Joseph P. Houseman, D.C.
Dr. Joseph P. Houseman is originally from Arcadia and completed his pre-chiropractic studies at Northridge University and at Pasadena City College. Dr. Houseman decided to enter the chiropractic profession after an on the job injury sent him to a chiropractor. The remarkable recovery he received from being a chiropractic patient gave Dr. Houseman first hand experience and understanding of health care without having to resort to drugs or surgery.
Dr. Houseman attended Pasadena College of Chiropractic in Pasadena, California. After completing 4,485 hours of classroom instruction and serving an internship, Dr. Houseman received his doctorate in 1985. Doctors of Chiropractic must complete continuing education seminar programs for annual license renewals.
Because Dr. Houseman feels his patients should have the very latest techniques for treatment, he and his staff also study nationwide postgraduate educational conferences held monthly.
Dr. Houseman has lectured at Pasadena College of Chiropractic and Cleveland College of Chiropractic on X-ray marking studies. His post graduate work includes studies with some of the world leaders of chiropractic: Radiology with X-ray expert Dr. Terry Yokum; Spinal Diagnosis and Treatment with Dr. L. John Faye, founder of Motion Palpation Institute; and Personal Injury and Orthopedic Studies with author and lecturer, Dr. Peter Fernandez. Other studies include Physical Therapy, Sports Injuries and the Biomechanics of Impact Trauma found in auto accidents. This is the kind of training and professionalism Dr. Houseman wants to continue to give the people of Antelope Valley.
Dr. Houseman is a member of the American Chiropractic Association, a member of the executive committee of the California Chiropractic Association and the High Desert Chiropractic Association. Dr. Houseman is a Diplomate of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Your doctor, as well as being licensed in California for Chiropractic practice, is also a California certified X-ray supervisor and operator. Dr. Houseman has been appointed by the American Red Cross as the chairperson for scoliosis and spinal screening. He has been a Red Cross volunteer at the Annual Health Fair held each year since 1987.
